In 2006, in the spirit of Black History Month (February) and Women’s History Month (March), KUT Radio produced a one-hour documentary about the life and legacy of Barbara Jordan, the first black woman from the South to serve in the U.S. Congress.
In Rediscovering Barbara Jordan, the thoughts and events that shaped Jordan – and the deeds that assured her place in American history – are re-told through her speeches, personal interviews, recorded conversations with her, and comments from her friends and contemporaries.
