Something new and exciting is here which can bring Austin’s rich history right into our schools, homes, libraries, and other public places. It can be a wonderful tool for students, visitors and those of us who have lived here forever and have a curiosity about Austin’s past. It’s called, Austin Past & Present. Karen Kocher has been working on this project for years with The City of Austin—it’s now complete and ready for us to use. She came in and brought with her Sam Hurt, the creator of Eyebeam, one of our favorite comic strips which can now be found in The Austin Chronicle. Sam had a major role in providing maps and graphic fun for the work. Karen also brought Patricia Fraga from The Austin Public Libraries. You’re going to want to know all about this AND it’s available for you to take home just in time for the holidays!
