A former U.S. State Department counterterrorism agent says Mexican drug and gang violence could spread into the Unites States. Fred Burton, with Austin based consulting firm Stratfor, is also a member of Governor Perry’s Texas Border Security Council. His report released today says law enforcement on the U.S side of the border is poorly coordinated and doesn’t have enough resources to combat drug cartels.
