Birmingham, England-based lead singer/guitarist Dave Wakeling and The English Beat are revived and bring the punky-reggae party to the stage with as much energy that they brought when developing as one of the most important ska groups with punk toaster-rapper Ranking Roger in the late ‘70s. They brought down the packed house at KUT’s SXSW showcase last weekend. Hear The English Beat live from their SXSW party weekend in Studio 1A Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. on Music with Jay Trachtenberg.
