WATER TREATMENT PLANT COSTS

Austin, TX

The Austin City Council has approved $26.7 million for design work for its next water treatment plant.

The plant will be built at 620 and Bullick Hollow Road in Northwest Austin. The first phase will pump 50 million gallons of water a day from Lake Travis. The city expects the plant to be in operation in about 6 years. The total cost of the plant is expected to exceed $350 million.
