Sixteen percent of Travis County residents were living in poverty in 2005.
That’s above the national average of 13 percent. Sarah Bush reports on efforts during national Poverty Awareness Month to end the problem in Travis County.
Join the Basic Needs Coalition of Central Texas in engaging community-wide discussions about the cost of poverty to Central Texas business, education, health care and faith communities.
Each week of January will focus on the cost of poverty to specific communities in Central Texas.
