The Texas General Land Office is trying to figure out what to do with the Christmas Mountains. The rugged chunk of West Texas, near Big Bend National Park, was up for sale but all bids were refused. But the only bidder right now is the National Parks Service. Texas Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson, who is overseeing the sale, doesn’t seem inclined to approve the National Parks proposal.
