Longhorns in London

Sports fans worldwide eagerly await the opening of the2012 Olympic Games in London.

The Opening Ceremony starts at 9 p.m. in Britain – that's at 3 p.m. CST. You can watch the Opening Ceremony tonight on KXAN at 6:30 p.m.

The time difference could mean early mornings for some Austinites dedicated to seeing former UT athletes compete – or could mean avoiding any media on the event until it airs at a "decent" hour locally.

There are several Longhorns in London. The first to compete is Brendan Hansen. He is scheduled to face other swimmers in a qualifying heat for the 100m Breaststroke at 5:52 a.m. CST.

Kevin Durant will make his first appearance at 8:30 a.m. CST on Sunday in a game against France.

You can find information on which events will air when at NBCOlympics.com.
