COTA Continues Push for Austin X Games With Video Pitch

The Circuit of the Americas [COTA] and hordes of extreme sports enthusiasts are fighting hard to bring the Summer X Games to Austin next summer.  COTA has now produced a video showing just how extreme Austin can be.

Circuit owners expect ESPN to decide among Chicago, Raleigh, Detroit and Austin by the end of this summer. COTA also held a rally on Wednesday to try to persuade representatives from ESPN that Austin is worthy of holding the X Games for three years beginning summer 2014.

This dub step-laden assault on the eardrums certainly lives up to the games' extreme moniker, but Austin's not the first city to make a video pitch to ESPN. X Games-loving Detroiters have made three haunting video pitches since April that showcase the city's extreme urban landscape.

Do you want an Austin X Games? You can tell ESPN on Facebook. Currently, Austin trails Detroit in votes by a huge margin -- 17,145 to 6,423.
