Free concert series, KUTX Live at Mueller, kicks off May 6

What: KUTX Live at Mueller, a free, family friendly music series kicks off Friday, May 6, and continues Friday nights through May 20.

Each concert starts at 7 p.m. with a kid-friendly act hosted by “Spare the Rock, Spoil the Child,” (heard on KUTX from 6-7 p.m. Sundays) followed by rock ‘n’ roll for the grown-ups. Additionally, some of Austin’s favorite food trucks will be onsite.

KUTX Live at Mueller is sponsored by Mueller and Wild About Music, with support from Rock and Roll Rentals. Free parking is available in the Mueller garage, adjacent to The Thinkery.

When: 7-9 p.m. May 6, 13 and 20, 2016

Where: Mueller Lake Park Amphitheatre (4550 Mueller Blvd.)

May 6: Jarebear, 7 p.m., Octopus Project, 7:45 p.m.

May 13: El Tule, 7 p.m., Tameca Jones, 7:45 p.m.

May 20: The Que Pastas, 7 p.m., Hard Proof, 7:45 p.m.

Background: KUTX 98.9, named “Best Radio Station” by Austin Chronicle readers three years in a row, is the destination for new music from the artists driving the sound of Austin today – from new and local artists, to music that’s stood the test of time. Programming includes more than 300 live, one-of-a-kind performances in Studio 1A each year; the Austin Music Minute, the KUTX Artist of the Month and the KUTX Song of the Day, as well as KUTX Live events that connect music fans to local and national talent.
