Join Us for a Live Debate on Proposed Ride-Hailing Regulations

Miguel Gutierrez, Jr/KUT

Join KUT and the Austin Monitor on Thursday, April 14th at 6:30pm at the North Door (502 Brushy St.) for a live debate on the ride-hailing regulations that will be on the ballot in Austin next month.

RSVP here.

The regulations are being put to a public vote after supporters submitted more than 20,000 petition signatures earlier this year.

The panel debating the pros and cons of the proposed regulations, which include repealing mandated fingerprint background checks for drivers, will feature former Austin City Councilmember Laura Morrison and Dean Rindy of Our City, Our Safety, Our Choice arguing against the ballot measure and Huey Rey Fischer and Joe Bowen with Ridesharing Works for Austin arguing in support.

The debate will be moderated by KUT’s Nathan Bernier, Audrey McGlinchy and Caleb Pritchard from the Austin Monitor.
