Event: Dallas' KERA and KUT's StateImpact Texas will host community event exploring What’s Behind the North Texas Quakes?

AUSTIN, Texas — May 19, 2014 — The Cactus Cafe, one of Austin's iconic acoustic music traditions, is proud to announce that Jeff Tweedy will perform in the Texas Union Ballroom on Saturday, June 21, as part of the Cactus' yearlong 35th anniversary celebration.

Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. CDT on Friday, May 23, at CactusCafe.org. Tickets for this fund raising event are $85 and general admission. The 700-seat Texas Union Ballroom is the smallest venue on Tweedy's summer tour.

Austin, Texas — May 22, 2014 — KUTX 98.9, the Austin Music Experience, will bring the Austin Music Map to life in Austin's 78704 neighborhood next month.

MapJam's "Summer Jam 2014" takes place at Austin Beer Garden Brewing Co. (ABGB) on Saturday, June 21. Keeping with the Austin Music Map tradition of featuring the city's best kept musical secrets, Summer Jam will showcase three very different genres of music: Afro-Latin, Cajun and psych-dub.

"One Day in Dallas: JFK's Assassination 50 Years Later," co-produced by David Brown and Emily Donahue, is one of four U.S. finalists in the history category. The production, first broadcast Nov. 22, 2013, is one of the first by the core team behind the forthcoming daily news program, Texas Standard

PHILADELPHIA –May 15, 2014 — The Corporation for Public Broadcasting today announced a $750,000 grant for a historic collaboration between five public media stations to build a new, national, online music video showcase featuring exclusive live performances of new and emerging bands.

Code named the "Music X Project," this service plans to launch by the end of 2014.  The five founding stations are KCRW in Los Angeles, KTBG in Kansas City, KUTX in Austin, WFUV in New York City, and WXPN in Philadelphia.
