Good morning from the KUT Newsroom.  We hope the high cedar and mold counts don't have you feeling like us (nothing like going through a box of tissue first thing in the morning).  Anyway...plenty of news to pass along this morning.

Austin ISD Goes Over Facilities Plan...again:

AISD Superintendent Maria Carstarphen met with the facilities task force Saturday to give a bit of a pep talk.  The volunteer committee has been in the headlines the last couple of weeks after its draft report proposed closing 9 under populated schools.  The Austin American Statesman reports Carstarphen told the group that they need to refocus on their original purpose of coming up with a 10 year facilities plan and not worrying about the immediate budget shortfall.

Mexican Truckers Truckin' into Texas:

The battle over letting Mexican trucks and truckers into the U.S. is heating up again.  The Texas Tribune reports a proposal that would grant Mexican truckers greater access to Texas roadways would be a boon to businesses in the state.  But unions say the plan would cost American jobs.

Super Bowl Bound:

And finally, today we find out which teams will play in Superbowl XLV in Dallas.  The Cowboys and Texans are NOT in the mix...but several players who made it big in the Lone Star State during college are still around.   Here's a list of who's playing today.

New York Jets:  LaDainian Tomlinson (Texas Christian)

Pittsburg Steelers: Casey Hampton, Tony Hills, Limas Sweed Jonathan Scott(Texas) - Emmanuel Sanders (SMU) - Dan Sepulveda (Baylor)

Green Bay Packers: Graham Harrell (Texas Tech) - Jermicheal Finley (Texas) - Marshall Newhouse (Texas Christian) - Josh Bell (Baylor)

Chicago Bears: Roberto Garza (Texas A&M-Kingsville) - Henry Melton (Texas) - J'Marcus Webb (West Texas A&M)
