Get Your Trot On

An estimated 20,000 runners will be burning off their Thanksgiving feast calories before the big meal at the ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot. That means some road closures in and around downtown Austin this morning. Click here for more information on the race, route, and road closures.

Taking a Thanksgiving Break

City of Austin offices will be closed Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday. Garbage, yard trimming, and recycling collection will "slide" one day later this week- so Thursday pick-ups will happen Friday, and Friday pick-ups will happen Saturday. The regular collection schedule resumes Monday. The Austin Animal Center is closed Thursday for Thanksgiving but will be open again Friday. Click here for a schedule of city facility closures for the Thanksgiving holiday.

End of an Era

Tonight Texas and Texas A&M will face off in the last football game of their 117- game rivalry - at least for now.  The last game is not going out quietly; click here for coverage of UT's 2011 Hex Rally. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m.
