An estimated 20,000 runners will be burning off their Thanksgiving feast calories before the big meal at the ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot. That means some road closures in and around downtown Austin this morning. Click here for more information on the race, route, and road closures.
Taking a Thanksgiving Break
City of Austin offices will be closed Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday. Garbage, yard trimming, and recycling collection will "slide" one day later this week- so Thursday pick-ups will happen Friday, and Friday pick-ups will happen Saturday. The regular collection schedule resumes Monday. The Austin Animal Center is closed Thursday for Thanksgiving but will be open again Friday.
