Hundreds of students in the Austin Independent School District will mark a major milestone this week when they walk down the aisle and receive their high school diplomas. Unfortunately, some teenagers won't get to participate because they failed to meet graduation requirements.

The chart below shows the percentage of students at AISD's twelve high schools who failed to meet graduation requirements in time for tomorrow's ceremonies. Also shown are the same numbers from last year. District-wide, AISD saw a one percentage-point improvement in graduation rates. Even the school with the highest percentage of students who didn't meet grad requirements, Eastside Memorial Green Tech High, saw a substantial improvement from the 2009-2010 school year.

Hold your mouse over a bar to see the exact percentage of students. The data was provided to KUT News by Austin ISD after we filed an Open Records Request.
