Former Longhorn quarterback Vince Young graduated from the University of Texas at Austin Friday with a bachelor’s degree in Youth and Community Studies. He Tweeted a blurry photo of himself receiving his diploma and thanked "everyone who supported me through the good and bad."

Young left UT in 2006 to join the NFL, but he returned to college in 2008. Brian Davis is UT’s associate athletic director for football student services, and he says attending college as a sports celebrity presented Young with a unique set of challenges.

“The first day of class in every class he took, everybody in there wanted his attention. They wanted a picture taken with him. They wanted an autograph," Davis said. "He actually stood up in every class and said, ‘I will sign anything you want. I will take pictures with everybody in here. But when we’re in this classroom, we need to honor and respect this professor because its their classroom.’”

Young’s graduation comes one day before another major milestone in his life. He turns 30 on Saturday.
