Many Central Texas school districts have announced delayed openings this morning, as temperatures dip below freezing and ice has been reported on some roadways in the Austin area.

The following school districts are on a 2-hour delay:

  • Austin ISD
  • Bastrop ISD
  • Blanco ISD
  • Burnet CISD
  • Del Valle ISD
  • Dripping Springs ISD
  • Eanes ISD
  • Elgin ISD
  • Georgetown ISD
  • Hays CISD
  • Hutto ISD
  • KIPP Public Schools
  • Lago Vista ISD
  • Lake Travis ISD
  • Leander ISD
  • Llano ISD
  • Lockhart ISD
  • Manor ISD
  • Marble Falls ISD
  • Pflugerville ISD
  • Round Rock ISD
  • Wimberley ISD

The City of Austin says it will open as usual today. Hays County offices will open two hours late this morning. San Marcos offices and facilities will open at 10 a.m., while San Marcos CISD has regular school hours.
UT Austin and St. Edward's University say they will operate normally. Concordia University Austin will start all classes and activities at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Capital Metro says it will be operating as normal, though there may be some longer-than-usual delays.

Some light precipitation moved through the area overnight leading to some small ice accumulations in some areas. Temperatures are expected to rise above freezing by mid-morning, with highs today only in the mid-40s.

While it is expected to stay chilly, we're not expecting more overnight freezes this week.
