P. Terry's Opens New Stand on Ben White at S. Congress

Austin is a city for burger lovers, and one famous local brand just opened a new location in South Austin.  P. Terry's began selling burgers last week on the northwest corner of the intersection at Ben White Blvd. and S. Congress Ave, right behind the Shell gas station.

The popular food blog interviewed Patrick Terry last month, and asked him why he chose that location for a new restaurant.

Well this is a tough town. You don't just take what you can get, because there are a lot of bad locations out there. But when we come across a location that we like, we get excited. South Austin has been really good to us, so we have a lot of customers south. So we feel like we can make it more convenient by being in that location. And it's by St. Edward's — we have a lot of St. Ed's students who come. And then there's a hospital across the street, St. David's, and we get a lot of those customers. So we're kind of going to our customer base.

The S. Congress and Ben White location is P. Terry's fourth burger stand. You can check out pictures of the design and construction on civil engineer Big Red Dog's website.
