People can expect to see thinner animals at the Texas State Fair in Dallas this weekend. The fair's Vice President of the Agriculture and Livestock, Daryl Real, says that this year's extreme drought has made it harder for ranchers to feed their cattle.
"The biggest impact that we'll have here at the fair is probably just weights. We'll probably see some lighter weight animals that just didn't grow as fast because it was just so hot this summer," Real said.
Although Real has yet to deal with any obstacles fair projects due to wildfire, he expects a lot of talk on the subject from ranchers and fair attendees.
Thin as the animals may be, expect the same array of deep fried wonders at the fair. Some bizarre delicacies going in the fryer this year will be bubble gum, oreos, bacon and Coca-Cola.
