Make It

Read by Zell Miller III

Started from the bottom as a

Hustling teen trying to come up to

Live in the dream. I came from the

Hood but that don’t define me. You

Say you don’t like me well guess

What I’m not here to please you.

You try to be me because you think its

Cool. So you breaking the rules  having

That fear when you can’t sleep because

The block you on. You can’t

Be me—there is only one me so

Don’t put yourself in my shoes

Because trust me, you’ll fall on the

First step so you do you and I’ma

Do me because that’s the best you

Can be because I made it to the

Dream. I’ma be a marine, so step

Up and you can live the dream too.

Dream big because that’s what I do.
