Romney Hits the Lone Star State

Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney campaigned in San Antonio today. It’s the 1st time one of Governor Rick Perry’s GOP opponents has ventured into the Lone Star State.

While he spent most of his speech criticizing President Obama for what he calls a weak and disgraceful foreign policy – he did take time for one indirect swipe at Perry.

“I am a conservative businessman.  I have spent most of my life outside of politics, dealing with real problems in the real economy.  Career politicians got us into this mess and they simply don't know how to get us out!” Romney told conventioneers

That could be aimed at Rick Perry positioning himself as a job creator in Texas.

Romney had long been considered the front runner in the 2012 GOP primaries. Recent polls have Perry not only passing Romney, but in some taking a double digit lead.
