Extra patriotic animals are waiting to find a home today.

Pets usually aren't big fans of the 4th of July("Fireworks are loud, can I have a dog biscuit," one local canine said). But with fireworks banned this year why not bring home a furry critter to call your own? The Town Lake Animal Center is offering this bargain adoption fee  of just $4 until 5 p.m. on Independence Day. The fee includes spay or neuter surgery, a microchip and vaccinations that would normally cost around $200.

Town Lake Animal Center is the largest animal shelter in Central Texas, providing shelter for more than 23,000 animals each year. Austin's no-kill policy means extra animals in the shelter available for adoption or foster placement. For more information visit www.austinanimalcenter.org or call 3-1-1.
