Another Freeze Warning for the Morning

Another freeze warning goes into effect early Tuesday morning. The local office of the National Weather Service has the warning in effect from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Temperatures are expected to go below freezing overnight, mainly from Austin to the north and west into the Hill Country.

It may be too cold for sensitive vegetation, so you may want to protect some of those outdoor plants.

National Weather Service Forecaster Joe Baskin says it could be the last time this season it gets this cold.

“You know, not to say there won’t be another cold front and temperatures won’t reach down to maybe 40 or so," Baskin said, "but I think this is the last one for 30-degree temperatures.”

Another concern: the ongoing dry conditions.

The Weather Service says there’s higher-than-normal risk of fire in the area through Tuesday afternoon because of low humidity.
