Five inductees have been named to the Texas Film Hall of Fame.

The Austin Film Society has announced its 2014 inductees into the Texas Film Hall of Fame.

The honorees will be awarded at the 14th annual Texas Film Awards kicking off the South by Southwest Film festival, for contributions that have “placed Texas on the world stage of film excellence.”

Austin actress Amber Heard will be recognized with the Rising Star Award. Ms. Heard first gained recognition for her role in the 2004 film “Friday Night Lights.” She's since gained recognition for racy roles in movies such as Machete Kills and “Paranoia,” starring opposite some of the biggest names in Hollywood.

Lubbock singer/songwriter Mac Davis will receive the Soundtrack Award for his musical contributions in films throughout the 70’s and 80’s. Davis has spent his life writing songs for country and pop royalty alike including for Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, and Kenny Rogers. Davis has also had several film roles and was the host of the Mac Davis Show from 1974-1976. Presenting his award? Priscilla Presley

Filmmaker David Gordon Green will be honored for representing “the next generation of American auteurs.” Green is the director of arthouse fare like “George Washington” and “All the Real Girls,” as well as mainstream breakout “Pineapple Express.”

Louis Black will receive an award for lifetime achievement, being inducted into the Hall of Fame that he helped create. Black is co-founder of The Austin Chronicle, South by Southwest, and acted as an original board member of the Austin Film Society. Black has also served as executive producer for films including “Be Here to Love Me,” a documentary on legendary, late musician Townes Van Zandt.

The ceremony’s Star of Texas Award goes to the 1996 film “From Dusk Till Dawn,” directed by Robert Rodriguez and starring George Clooney, Quentin Tarantino, Harvey Keitel, and Juliette Lewis. The crime/horror hybrid has achieved a cult-classic status that blends sex, drugs, and vampires into a plot line that just wouldn’t be the same without its distinctly Texas/Mexico border backdrop.

The Texas Film Hall of Fame – hosted by Luke Wilson – are March 6. Check out a trailer for the event below:
