Austin Police File More Charges Against SXSW Crash Suspect

The Austin Police Department has filed four more charges against the suspect accused of killing four peopleand injuring more than 20 people in downtown Austin on March 13

Roger Wade with the Travis County Sheriff's Office confirms that 21-year-old Rashad Charjuan Owens now has 25 aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges filed against him as of April 17. He's also been charged with capital murder.

The four people who died - Steven Craenmehr, Sandy Le, De'Andre Tatum and Jamie West - and the 23  injured, had been near The Mohawk nightclub when Owens plowed through the barricades at Ninth and Red River Streets, allegedly to evade police and a sobriety check.

Court documents show Owens had a blood alcohol content of 0.114, above the legal limit of .08.

Owens is scheduled to appear in court on April 30 at the 14th District Court in Travis County.
