State Rep. Charlie Geren (R-Fort Worth), filed today an bill that takes aim at double-dipping by  Texas politicians.

Rep. Geren told the Associated Press that his bill would "clean up shoddy disclosure laws" that have allowed lawmakers to pocket taxpayer money for political travel with little oversight or transparency.

The legislation would also require registered lobbyist to disclosure their paid relationships with politicians. Geren said that Texans should be able to know who lobbyists are working for and whether their relationship present any conflicts of interest.
