Hidden For Years, African-American Statues Find Home at Carver Center

A scene of five statues, originally intended to go on the Texas Capitol grounds, have finally been dedicated.

As of Friday, they were adopted by east Austin’s George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center.The scene will be on display later this year. But what has happened to the original idea of having a monument on the Texas Capitol grounds that depicts African-Americans?
