For the next two weekends, the annual Austin City Limits festival will bring thousands of people to Zilker Park. By planning ahead, getting to and from the park – or avoiding it altogether – can be much less stressful.
Road Closures
Stratford Drive and Barton Springs Road will be closed from 9 p.m. this Thursday through 6 a.m. Monday, and again from 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, through 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14.
Azie Morton Road will be closed Friday from 12 p.m. to 12. a.m and from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
No vehicular traffic will be allowed on Westbound Barton Springs, Toomey and Butler roads from 9-11 every night of the festival, according to the Austin Transportation Department.
Official Festival Shuttle
ACL shuttles will offer free rides from Republic Square to Zilker Park on both weekends. The service begins at 10 a.m. each day of the festival, with the final shuttle leaving Zilker at 11 p.m. each night.
Capital Metro’s MetroRapid 803 route provides direct service to the area at its Barton Springs Station. Several other routes will operate within a block of the Republic Square shuttle site.
Pedicabs will also be available, with the pickup/drop-off area at the northeast corner of Barton Springs Road and Azie Morton Road, near the entrance to the festival.
Bikes And Scooters
Festival-goers can park their personal bikes along Toomey Road, with secondary areas along Azie Morton Road and Stratford Drive. B-cycle users can drop them off at the B-cycle station and valet service at Barton Springs Road and Sterzing Street.
E-scooters or dockless bikes can be dropped off along Toomey Road, with secondary areas along Azie Morton Road and in Veterans Park. No scooters are allowed on the trail or on festival grounds. Lime estimates that people took 90,000 trips on its scooters alone during last year’s festival.
Ride-Hailing And Taxis
There will be three drop-off zones for rideshares: Wallingwood Drive, Lee Barton Drive or Veterans Drive. A taxi stand will be available southeast of William Barton Drive. Uber is the official partner of ACL Fest, while Lyft is offering discounts for riders.
