It’s Election Day and, if you didn’t vote early, today is your final chance to cast a ballot on nine proposed state constitutional amendments, along with a few local elections.
This election is also the first one with the state’s new voter ID law in place.
For Agenda Texas, KUT's Ben Philpott breaks down what you should expect at the polls this Election Day.
There are basically three different scenarios for how your voting could go:
1. You present one of seven acceptable forms of identification and you're good to go.
2. You don't have ID and you vote provisionally — meaning you vote, and then prove to the county that you're authorized to vote within six days.
3. You're name doesn't exactly match the name on your ID and you'll sign an affidavit to prove you are who you say you are.
