Veterans Day Parade:
Travis County and the City of Austin are holding the annual Veterans Day Parade on Monday to honor service men and women.
The parade starts at 9 a.m. and continues until 11 a.m. It starts on Congress Avenue just south of Cesar Chavez at the bridge, and will continue up to the Capitol.
Road closures for the parade will last from 8:15 a.m. til noon. Congress Avenue, Colorado Street, and Brazos Street from Cesar Chavez to the Capitol, as well as the block of 11th Street in front of the Capitol, will be closed off for the parade.
A number of city offices will be closed on Monday for the holiday, including City Hall, Austin Public libraries, and the City Council offices.
City-sponsored recreation, cultural, senior centers, and youth programs will also be closed for the day.
The Austin Animal Center, the Zilker Botanical Garden, and the Austin Nature and Science Center will all be open on Veterans Day.
City of Austin trash and recycling pick-ups will remain on schedule.
Capital Metro will be operating its regular service on Monday, although its administrative offices will be closed. Capital Metro recommends referring to the online trip planner on Monday if users have any questions.
