Rain fell hard on Central Texas Tuesday evening and again last night. And, according to our weather partner, more is in the forecast. YNN reports there's a 50 percent chance for showers and storms later today.
The National Weather Service reports the 24-hour rain total was 2.88 inches at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. One of the highest reported totals was 5.03 inches at the Colorado River in Smithville.

While the much-needed precipitation was enough to lift the burn ban in Travis County, it also caused a flood of disruptions.

Hamilton Pool was also hit by the flash flood. KVUE reports Jim Miles and his wife were trapped inside the natural swimming hole while celebrating their anniversary. They were rescued by a Travis County Park Ranger:

Power has now been restored to almost all Austin Energy customers. At one point during the storm, the utility reported as many as 2,800 customers were without power.
About 2,800 customers were w/o power at peak. Crews now working to restore service to 2,000 w/outages in 50 locations.
