Road closures this weekend will keep drivers away from city hall and a few roads surrounding the University of Texas at Austin. Art City Austin and the Longhorn Run are both this weekend.
Art City Austin is pitched as a hybrid of an art festival and a block party. The festival features an outdoor art fair, local food trailers, live music and more. Volunteers are still needed.
Several roads will be closed for the festival. San Antonio, Guadalupe and Lavaca Streets will all be shut down between W. Cesar Chavez Street and West 2nd Street. The 1st Street Bridge will also be closed. The closures are scheduled to begin 7 p.m. Friday and last until midnight on Sunday.
The Longhorn Run on Saturday will result in several full and partial road closures around the University of Texas. East 21st Street will be fully closed from 2 a.m. to 11 a.m. from San Jacinto Boulevard to Speedway.
The Longhorn Run raises money for student organizations on campus. Runners can still register online either for the 10k or two mile run.
