What were you doing the day of the 9/11 terror attacks? Did you call in to KUT 90.5? If so we want to hear from you again for a special report on the anniversary of 9/11.  Send us an email at news@kut.org.

We will be recording Austinites' memories of that day Sunday, August 7 at noon here at the KUT studios on the University of Texas campus.

Here are some of the comments we've received on Facebook:

Janice Spence I was listening to KUT in my car on my way to work. It was a new job as a hospice chaplain. I remember hearing the reports discussing the validity of what was happening. You could here the disbelief in their voices. Once at work, I had a hard time not watching the TV, but knew I had to work. Will Watkins Bown I was listening to KUT just getting out of bed to go to my new job when Carl Castle said something like, "A plane has hit the World Trade Center in New York City, Turn on your tv for more information...". I turned on the TV saw what was going on and called in sick to work. Amber Suka I was in Pearl City, Hawaii. It was 3amish when my niece called and told me that the WTC was in flames. I thought she meant the Waikiki Trade Center until I turned on the tv... It shook a lot people up in Hawaii because of what happened to Pearl Harbor, it put everyone on edge.
