The City of Austin is holding the first of three public meetings today over what to do with the Seaholm Intake Facility.
The city wants the community’s ideas for how to incorporate part of the old power plant along Lady Bird Lake into the park and trail system.
As KUT reported earlier this year:
The Seaholm district is slated for big changes: apartments and mixed-use retail are coming to the power plant; the city’s breaking ground on a new central library nearby this year; even a Trader Joe’s is opening up. But the intake structures remain property of the Parks and Recreation Department, and the department is looking for ideas .
All three meetings will be held at the Seaholm Intake Facility at 787 W. Cesar Chavez St. A shuttle will transport people there from City Hall.
