If Austin Rep. Donna Howard's latest bill makes it through the Legislature and becomes law, Texas will join 24 other states that don't tax feminine hygiene products.

The district has been installing period product dispensers in high school and middle school bathrooms ahead of the 2022-2023 school year. The move comes as the U.S. continues to face a tampon shortage.
