Jack Borden, a Texas lawyer and UT grad, passed away this week at the age of 102.

A lawyer from North Texas who was heralded as being "America's oldest worker" has passed away in Weatherford at the ripe old age of 102.

From the Associated Press:

Up until his death, Jack Borden had worked daily at his Weatherford law practice, handling real estate and probate cases. Borden died Wednesday. His law partner and nephew, John Westhoff, says he insisted that Borden go to a hospital for treatment of fluid on his lungs after Borden arrived at work Monday. He was named America's Outstanding Oldest Worker for 2009 by Experience Works, the nation's largest nonprofit training center for older workers. Borden told The Associated Press in 2009 that he had no plans to retire. He was known recalling with vivid details his childhood during the Great Depression and chasing draft dodgers when he was an FBI agent in the 1940s.

Borden attended the University of Texas law school in 1936. In an interview with UTLAW magazine, Borden said the entire university had an enrollment of only 4,000 or 5,000 students.

"People say, 'Why don't you retire?' and I don't know anything other than work," Borden said in a video produced last year by Experience Works, an organization that helps low income seniors.  Check it out below.
