An expected decision on Fort Hood shooting suspect Maj. Nidal Hasan's request for a three-month trial delay was further delayed today by military judge Col. Tara Osborn.
The AP reports the judge will delay her decision on Hasan's request until Tuesday, allowing him time to file paperwork supporting the "defense of others" strategy that Hasan proposes. Maj. Hasan has chosen to defend himself rather than rely on counsel.
With the delayed decision comes a further delayed jury selection for the trial of the Army major accused of killing 13 people in a 2009 shooting at Fort Hood. He faces the death penalty or a life sentence if he is convicted.
