The staff at our sister station KUTX scour the earth to bring listeners the best music. Most Fridays, they share three of their favorite songs on Morning Edition.
"Monsters" by Los Coast
Let’s kick it off with Austin quintet Los Coast. This group has been popping up on local show bills and marquees for a few years now, but they took their talents only recently to the studio for a full-length album due out in June called Samsara. The first two singles have the same soulful heat you get from their live performances, so try not to unleash your inner beast when you hear this one: “Monsters."
"Begin Again" by Norah Jones
Next up we have Norah Jones. Ranging everywhere from trip-hop to country folk, Norah covers a lot of ground on her new album Begin Again. Check out the title track, one that’s moody and ready for your next road trip.
"Borderline" by Tame Impala
To wrap things up, let’s check in with Tame Impala. This year Kevin Parker has been keeping his herd of fans at bay with a couple of new singles from his Aussie outfit. "Borderline" packs a punch with sweet-yet-sinister psychedelia and bonus yacht-rock-inspired elements.
