KUT is making changes to its program lineup, starting with On Point moving to the 9 a.m. slot, replacing 1A. The changes offer listeners new exciting shows entering election season and help KUT to more thoughtfully allocate programming dollars.

Nine paid interns — selected from more than 80 applicants — joined five different teams across both stations this fall. The hands-on internships are designed to provide real-world experience and work samples for interns. Interns also receive supplemental programming on topics including confidence in the workplace and navigating job applications.

Public media journalists and thought leaders from KUT News, “Texas Standard,” The Texas Newsroom and NPR – including NPR CEO Katherine Maher and "Morning Edition" host Michel Martin – will lead discussions on topics ranging from criminal justice and media, to Texas music and culture at the 2024 Texas Tribune Festival.

We are pleased to welcome 11 paid interns to the KUT and "Texas Standard" newsrooms and KUTX this summer. Over the next few months, they'll gain hands-on, real-world experiences to prepare them for careers in journalism, media production and more.
