AAA Texas says a gallon of regular unleaded gas in Austin is at $3.88 this week. That's 5-cents more than last week and just 10-cents away from an all time high in Austin.
The current record of $3.98 was set in July of 2008. Prices tend to go up during the summer when school lets out and people take summer trips. But consumers could see a slight price dip in coming weeks. The price of a barrel a oil dropped below $100 today. That's down from a high two weeks ago of around $115 a barrel.
Lower prices there could eventually trickle down to the pump, just as travelers fuel up for June road trips.
