FronteraFest Turns 23

FronteraFest has a been a staple of the Austin theater community for nearly a quarter of a century. As perhaps the premier fringe theater festival in the southwest USA, FronteraFest has given hundreds of artists an opportunity to present their works to an accepting audience.

Producers Ken Webster and Christy Moore have both been with the festival for years, and say that this year, as is the case most years, will feature dozens of performers who are new to the fest along with plenty of returning favorites.

"It's amazing to me," says Moore. "We have new people every year, actually usually more new people than returning people, so we are discovering new groups, new talent all the time."

FronteraFest is underway now and lasts five weeks, taking place in several venues. For a full schedule, consult Hyde Park Theatre's website.
