Original post (Sept. 6): Austin’s annual Pride celebration, which kicked off Sept. 1, builds to a close this weekend. The theme of this year’s events, held by the Austin Gay and Lesbian Pride Foundation? “Love Unites.”

Pride week culminates on Saturday with several events:

  • Rainbow Run 5K: Beginning at 9 a.m., racers will head up the South First Street bridge, then make a loop around part of downtown Austin. Runners will be greeted at the finish line with a spray of edible rainbow-colored powder, a post-run dance party, and wellness expo.
