Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul is making a campaign stop on the 40 acres.

With this week's announcement that former Speaker Newt Gingrich is dropping out of the presidential race, the Texas congressman is the last challenger left for presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney.

Jim Henson, director of the Texas Politics Project at UT Austin, has a take on why Paul's still in the race.

"It appears that he's trying to create some kind of a legacy for himself and for his movement. And perhaps it's something that we get a Paul family 2.0 farther down the line with his son Rand Paul,” says Henson. “But the end game of the candidacy itself seems a bit unclear."

Paul recently launched a new TV ad campaign in Texas. But a recent poll shows him trailing Mitt Romney by 31 points.

Paul is speaking on the LBJ Library Lawn this evening at 7 p.m.
