Flash Flood Warnings on a Stormy Saturday

UPDATE 5 p.m.: There's aflash flood warningin effect for southwest Austin and western Travis County until 6:30 p.m.

EARLIER: A flash flood warning is in place until 5 pm for the Austin area. Heavy rains in Williamson and North Travis counties have pushed some creeks over their banks. Williamson counties officials say some areas around Brushy Creek are currently flooded. As always in Central Texas, if you see water covering a road, turn around and find another route.

Today begins what's expected to be a stormy week. The National Weather Service has issued a "Hazardous Weather Outlook" for the week. That means from now through Friday we should expect heavy rains, along with the possibility of hail, damaging winds and localized flooding.
