Port Aransas Business Owners Take Stock After Harvey

Some seasonal residents of the Port A RV Resort in Port Aransas were unable to move their recreational vehicles inland before the arrival of Hurricane Harvey.

The sounds of generators and chainsaws are now as much a part of the City of Port Aransas as sea gulls.

The resort town on the northern end of Mustang Island has no power or running water. City officials are allowing residents to return and clean up during daylight hours, but you must either leave or shelter in place overnight.

Residents and business owners at the Port A RV Resort began the cleanup after Hurricane Harvey this week. Duke Earwood, manager of the RV park, and Paul Underwood, park resident and owner of the nearby Slice of Chicago pizzeria, were among those picking up the pieces Tuesday.

Port Aransas officials are asking any donations be directed to the Coastal Bend Disaster Recovery Group.
