Busy Day at Austin's Airport

Today's expected to be one of the busiest days of the month at Austin's airport.  Airport officials say people flying before 8 a.m. should arrive two hours early. After that, people should arrive an hour and a half early since security lines are expected to be longer than normal.  TSA says don't wrap gifts because they may have to be opened for inspection.  And another little tip: If you are wearing loose or baggy clothing you have a better chance of undergoing more screening or an "enhanced pat down".

Horns Fall to Penn State

Any hopes for the Texas Longhorns to win their first national championship in volleyball since 1988 ended last night in the semifinal match against Penn State.  The Nittany Lions swept the Longhorns, 3-0, at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri.  Greg Echlin has more on how the Horns broke a 19 match winning streak.

Interim Director Named For Film Commission

Governor Rick Perry has named an interim director of the Texas Film Commission.  Evan E. Fitzmaurice is now leading the Commission.  One of its main jobs is to promote filmmaking in Texas through incentives.  Fitzmaurice had a stint in the Governor’s General Counsel Office and before that he worked at an entertainment law firm in L.A. The former director, Bob Hudgins, resigned at the end of November amid accusations of sexual harassment.  He denied those claims.
