KUTX presents multi-station public radio broadcast and webcast from SXSW Radio Day Stage on March 20

Live concert will feature Twin Shadow, Gang of Four, Ryan Bingham, Best Coast, Madisen Ward and the Mama Bear, and Courtney Barnett

AUSTIN, Texas — March 5, 2015 — KUTX 98.9, The Austin Music Experience, is one of five top public radio stations presenting a special concert and live radio broadcast and webcast from the SXSW Public Radio Day Stage at the Austin Convention Center on Friday, March 20.

The live concert and broadcast starts at noon and will feature performances by Twin Shadow (noon), Gang of Four (1 p.m.), Ryan Bingham (2 p.m.), Best Coast (3 p.m.), Madisen Ward and the Mama Bear (4 p.m.) and Courtney Barnett (5 p.m.). KUTX will provide listeners with opportunities to win tickets to see the show live.

“Again this year we’re partnering with some like-minded stations from around the country to bring industry types – and listeners – some of the best music being played on public radio airwaves,” said KUTX Program Director Matt Reilly.

The Public Radio SXSW Day Stage brings the live musical experience of SXSW to public radio listeners — as it happens. In addition to KUTX 98.9, the day stage is being produced by WXPN/Philadelphia, KXT/Dallas, WFUV-FM/New York, The Current/Minneapolis and SXSW Music. Each station will broadcast the concert live on its airwaves and websites.

The SXSW Radio Day Stage, located on the fourth floor of the Austin Convention Center in Ballroom D, is where registrants can grab a drink, connect to free wi-fi, relax and catch quality performances from buzz artists between sessions and workshops.
