For $30, George W. Bush Will Give You the Bird - On a Christmas Ornament, That Is

ABC News
The George W. Bush Presidential Center 2013 ornament features artwork from the former president.

He led the United States on 9/11, oversaw the bloody invasion and occupation of Iraq, reconfigured the global geopolitical landscape, and became one of the most polarizing presidents in recent history.

But these days, it seems like George W. Bush is mostly known for his painting.

Since his retirement, the former president has made headlines for his new hobby painting portraits and pictures of animals. Now, a small piece of his creative output can be yours.

The George W. Bush Presidential Center is selling a Christmas ornament featuring a reproduction of one of Bush's paintings of a cardinal, priced at about $30.

"I painted a cardinal for a friend of ours, and Laura liked the bright red on the cardinal and the greens of the foliage. And chose my painting, for which I'm grateful, to become the Christmas card and ornament," Bush says the video below, seated next to his wife and former first lady Laura Bush.

The ornament is apparently flying off the shelves over at the Presidential Center's website. A note tells interested shoppers that "due to the volume of orders for our 2013 Christmas ornament, orders placed after 11/25/13 are not guaranteed to arrive before Christmas."
