The City of Austin is holding a public meeting Thursday to discuss the future of the East Riverside corridor.

Meeting Tonight on Future of East Riverside

For over a year now, the City of Austin has been working on a new master plan for East Riverside Drive.  Thursday at 6 p.m. it will present its progress in a community forum, but questions remain over how development on East Riverside will impact the area's current residents.  KUT's Mose Buchele explored that; you can listen to his story here.

 

Texas Student from Saudi Arabia Indicted

A federal grand jury in Lubbock has indicted a college student from Saudi Arabia on a count of attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction.  Khalid Ali-M Aldawsari was indicted yesterday.  Prosecutors say he was attempting to build a bomb with items he bought online.  They say his targets included former President George W. Bush’s Dallas home. If convicted, Aldawsari faces up to life in prison.

Texas Falls to the Aggies in the Big 12 Tournament

The UT women’s basketball team is out of the Big 12 tournament.  The Horns lost to Texas A&M 77-50 in the quarterfinals last night.  Texas had 31 turnovers.  Texas A&M now advances to the semifinals.  The Aggies play Oklahoma tomorrow.
