Officer Involved Shooting in Williamson County
At about midnight the Williamson County Sheriff's Office got several 911 calls of shots fired in the 200 block of Spotted Fawn Drive, west of the 130 toll way in Hutto. Deputies responded, along with a DPS trooper.
A Williamson County Sheriff's Office spokesman told KUT that officers found a suspect who had barricaded himself in a shed, they ordered him out, and the suspect came out pointing a gun at authorities. Officers then fired at the suspect, and he was hit. The suspect was taken to a Williamson County hospital and officials say he is currently in stable condition.
Officials say it's too early in the investigation to say how many shots were fired. The Williamson County Sheriff's Office, the DPS and the Texas Rangers are investigating the shooting.
House Talks Redistricting Today
The Texas House debates today on a redistricting plan for House lawmakers. As our political reporting partner the Texas Tribune reports, "Representatives will choose their voters today- grabbing the ones they want, ditching the ones they don't."
The Associated Press reports the plan would pit several members of the GOP against each other. That's because there are so many Republicans in the House that leaders can't draw enough "safe" districts.
